Building Safety Hosts Upcoming Events

Starting in May, the Community Development Department will offer a series of building and safety events to engage community members and partners. The events aim to increase awareness of using strong building materials and accessibility requirements and take an in-depth look at how the Department ensures building safety. Understanding building safety starts with knowledge of how to create and construct safe buildings.

Building safety in Surf City ranges from small residential projects to large industrial developments that may span construction over several years.  In each instance, the City’s code-certified professionals examine plans, ensure corrections are made, approve plans, and then are on-site during all construction phases to inspect safety and compliance with the approved plans.   Our field and in-house teams bring professional quality, ethics, and excellence to HB daily!

The first two events require registration; the final event is a casual meet and greet.  Please mark your calendars, and we hope to see you there!
