Council Committees

Annually, the City Council confirms appointments from the Mayor of individual City Councilmembers to Citizen Boards, Commissions, Committees and Task Forces to serve as the liaison to a specific advisory body.  The City Council also creates Council Sub-Committees in response to a particular issue, made up of Council members only (three or fewer) with staff support.

Please refer to the 2024 Council Liaison List.

Standing Council Committees meet on a regular basis and therefore follow the procedures of the Brown Act for open meetings.  Their purposes are listed below with their available agendas and minutes.

Ad hoc Council Committees act as temporary committees created by Council action in response to an issue that is limited in scope and duration. They only meet when necessary and thus are not subject to the Brown Act.
