Specific & Beach EventsThe City of Huntington Beach is honored to be called home to a wide verity of special events each year ranging from international sporting events to community-based celebrations. Collectively, our events in Huntington Beach attract more than 1.25 million visitors annually.

Specific Event Permit ApplicationGenerally, any organized activity involving the use of, or having impact upon, public property including parks, beaches, parking lots and street areas in a manner that varies from its current land use, requires a permit. Pennant and Banner PolicyThe City allows banners and pennants for the sole purpose of providing public notice of events, not for the purpose of providing a forum for expression.  Banners can be displayed for a Community Event, which is defined as a planned gathering, program and/or activity that is open to the public and permitted by the City Huntington Beach or sponsored by public agencies, local colleges, youth sports leagues, or non-profit organizations that are based within or have a local chapter or affiliation with the City of Huntington Beach.  For more information on pennants and banners, please view Administrative Regulation 708 - Pennant and Banner Policy.  Download the Pennant and Banner Hanging Reservation Form.

Facility RentalsThe Rental Office issues permits for small events in the parks and may be contacted at (714) 536-5486, press 2, or [email protected] or visit us at 2000 Main Street - 5th Floor.

Private Property EventsThe Community Development Department issues permits for events on private property and may be contacted at (714) 536-5271.

Film PermitsThe City Manager's Office issues permits for TV, movie, and commercial film shoots and may contact PIO at (714) 536-5577 or visit Film in Huntington Beach.
