Honoring Officer Nick Vella: Second Annual Memorial Beach Ride

The Huntington Beach Police Department’s Mounted Enforcement Unit (MEU) invites you to participate in a special event that pays homage to a fallen hero while supporting crucial aspects of law enforcement. On Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., saddle up for the second Annual Nick Vella Memorial Beach Ride.

This ride is more than just an outing along the coastline – it’s a tribute to Officer Nick Vella, a dedicated member of our law enforcement community. Officer Vella’s memory lives on through this event, which also serves as a means to support essential components of law enforcement, including MEU equipment and enabling officers to attend the National Police Officers Memorial. Additionally, dollars raised will contribute to an established fund in Officer Vella’s honor, ensuring his legacy continues to make a difference.

The ride will kick off from the beach parking lot at Tower 19, embarking on an eye-catching journey along the sands of Huntington Beach, ending at Tower 8. This unique opportunity is limited to just 100 riders, so please secure your spot early to participate in this meaningful event.

The Huntington Beach Police and Community Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization (Tax ID #47-1726054), is proud to host this event. Your contribution is appreciated and tax-deductible. The price per rider is $350, which includes trailer parking in the beach parking lot, one meal ticket, and a commemorative t-shirt.

Following the ride, join us for a BBQ lunch at The Huntington Beach House at 21601 E. Pacific Coast Hwy., Huntington Beach, CA. 92646. This venue is directly adjacent to the ride's starting point, providing the perfect setting to reflect on the day’s events and a chance to honor Officer Nick Vella’s memory together.
